Know the real appointment
The official appointment has 65 total questions.
NASAA’s current Series 63 guide identifies 60 scored multiple-choice questions and five unidentified pretest questions. Candidates receive 75 minutes and must answer at least 43 of the 60 scored questions correctly to pass.
NASAA and FINRA listed the fee as $147 when this page was reviewed. Fees and rules can change; verify the live sources before relying on that amount.
Enrollment is not licensure
You may be able to enroll without a firm.
NASAA says a broker-dealer normally enrolls an associated candidate through Form U4, while an individual not employed by or associated with a FINRA member firm can use FINRA’s Test Enrollment Services System. If you are associated with a broker-dealer or investment adviser, FINRA directs you to consult the firm before requesting enrollment.
Passing is only one requirement
NASAA says Series 63 may satisfy part of a state’s broker-dealer agent requirements, but passing alone does not authorize securities business. Jurisdictions differ, and the application, firm relationship, other exams, checks, and activities performed still matter.
Practice without false certainty
One complete form, two useful modes.
- Full 65: an appointment-length form with a 1:15:00 clock.
- Quick 10: a shorter mixed sprint for rule retrieval.
- Immediate rationales: review the governing principle and decision.
- Mistake vault: retain missed and uncertain concepts for another pass.
- Private local progress: practice remains on this device unless structured sync is explicitly connected.
Honest limit: this beta contains one original appointment-length Series 63 form. Repetition can measure memory of the bank instead of fresh readiness. Use the current NASAA guide and additional independently reviewed materials.
First 60 questions
Coverage follows NASAA’s eight scored subjects.
The final five Role by Role items are transparent mixed-subject practice in the same number of positions as the official appointment’s unidentified pretest questions. They are not represented as psychometrically equivalent.
Build rule discrimination
Put conduct and communication at the center.
- Weight study honestly. Ethical practices and customer communications together account for 27 of 60 scored questions.
- Distinguish people, firms, and securities. Registration, exemption, exclusion, and prohibited-conduct questions often turn on exactly who or what is being regulated.
- Attach every deadline or remedy to its trigger. A number without the event that starts it is fragile knowledge.
- Repair correct guesses. If the reasoning was uncertain, keep the concept in the mistake vault even when the selected answer happened to be right.
- Protect one realistic session. Use the full form sparingly, then return to the rules behind the misses.
A Role by Role score is a study signal—not an official result, pass probability, state decision, or registration status.

Evidence and limits
Original practice—not NASAA exam content.
The questions are original Role by Role material mapped to NASAA’s current guide. They are not recalled, copied, or represented as official exam questions. Automated structural and source audits pass; independent securities subject-matter approval of the exact bank is still required before public launch.
