How the work is made
Evidence before confidence.
These standards govern public guides, career maps, exam-practice content, and product claims. They are designed to make errors easier to catch and uncertainty harder to hide.
Source hierarchy
Rules, exam structures, fees, eligibility, licensing, and regulatory claims begin with the responsible primary authority: FINRA, NASAA, SEC, NMLS, state regulators, statutes, or an employer’s own current listing. Secondary sources can provide context but do not override a current primary source.
Claim-level discipline
- Consequential facts receive a source, access date, and refresh trigger.
- Requirements are separated from common preferences and practical suggestions.
- Career pages distinguish what one employer listing said from what an occupation always requires.
- Exam questions are original and mapped to the public outline; recalled live-exam content is not accepted.
- A changed source creates a review alert, not an automatic factual rewrite.
Review states
Structurally checked means automated checks found valid choices, keys, rationales, topic coverage, source records, and duplication controls. Internally reviewed means the source and wording received a documented editorial pass. Independently reviewed is used only after a qualified, named subject-matter reviewer approves the exact published version. The current securities bank is not yet independently approved.
How AI may assist
AI can help organize research, compare source changes, identify broken links, draft alternative wording, and run deterministic quality checks. It may not invent expertise, personal experience, credentials, citations, learner outcomes, or employer requirements. Financial and licensing content must remain traceable to sources and human review. The editorial agent cannot auto-publish substantive changes.
Outcome and marketing claims
Role by Role does not publish a pass-rate, offer probability, salary promise, hiring prediction, or “best” claim without a defined population, sufficient evidence, reproducible method, limitations, and appropriate independent review. Practice performance remains a study signal. Job matching remains an explainable comparison controlled by the job seeker.
Updates and corrections
Material changes receive a real modification date and a public change note. Dates are not refreshed merely to look current. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly, with scope and effect recorded when consequential. See the correction process and public update log.
Independence and conflicts
Editorial content does not become more favorable because someone contributes money. Hosted support never changes access, rankings, scores, or review conclusions. Future sponsorships or affiliate relationships must be disclosed at the point of influence.
